Every candle begins with a brushstroke and a story. See how Chère Maison grew from one artist’s creative escape into a family-run studio built on love and craft.
Chère Maison began in a living room filled with light and paint. In 2020, founder and artist Traci Mitchell started painting small pieces each day — simple works she mailed to friends and family as a way to stay connected.
What started as an act of kindness quickly became a passion. Soon, those brushstrokes moved from paper to glass, transforming everyday jars into hand-painted vessels. When she poured her first soy candle into one, the spark of Chère Maison was lit.
Today, that same spirit fills every candle. Still painted at home, still poured in the kitchen, still shared with love. What began as a creative escape has become a family business — one built on connection, artistry, and the belief that beauty is found in the details of everyday life.
Because at its heart, Chère Maison isn’t just about what you light. It’s about how it makes you feel — at home, at ease, and at peace.
